Brenda Kean was born in Kenya, and the people of this nation have always been close to her heart. Her passion is to see spiritual and physical transformation among the poor living in the slums of Nairobi.
Brenda’s heart is evangelism! Thousands have made decisions for Christ over the years through her ministry. Planting churches was an initial ministry focus, but it became evident that there was more to be done, and a holistic approach was adopted. Discipleship and training remain a vital part of her vision.
As a missionary kid growing up in Nairobi, Brenda’s favorite tree was the Jacaranda tree. With its many branches, intricate purple flowers and deep roots, it beautifully symbolizes the many branches of Jacaranda Community.
A Legacy of Service…
Brenda’s Dad, Rev. William Cornelius, meets with the first President of Kenya, Jomo Kenyatta. What a wonderful legacy we are walking in!
Brenda has four daughters (Kaitlyn, Lillian, Caeli and Brayden), two son-in-laws (Manny and Cade), two cats (AJ and Indie) and a precious pup (Mochy).
Jacaranda Community is a ministry of Kean & Company, Inc., a US 501(c)(3) and Registered Charity in Canada.
